Design and implementation of online admission and result checking system for a higher institution

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ONLINE ADMISSION AND RESULT CHECKING SYSTEM FOR A HIGHER INSTITUTION (CASE STUDY OF IMT, ENUGU)

ABSTRACT

In every institution, admission and result are the most important data which is the basic for each candidate. The institution makes sure that every student comes into the institution through a verified process.
On the other hand, the institution makes sure that every qualified student who is duely admitted, goes out with a comprehensive result so as to ascertain his/her studentship.
The major aim of this project is to enable the institution produce qualify students that is students who did not come into the institution through falsification of result and who did not graduate with a maneuvered result. All these will be achieved by using a system which its operation is not basically manual. [Read more…]

CHAPTER ONE

1.0     INTRODUCTION
1.1    BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The world is fast becoming a global village and a necessary tool for this process is communication of which telecommunication is a key player. The quantum development in the telecommunications industry all over the world is very rapid as one innovation replaces another in a matter of weeks. A major breakthrough is the wireless telephone system which comes in either fixed wireless telephone lines or the Global System of Mobile Communications (GSM). Communication without doubt is a major driver of any economy. Emerging trends in socio-economic growth shows a high premium being placed on information and communication technology (ICT) by homes, organizations, and nations. [Read more…]

Design and implementation of computerized student registration system

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPUTERIZED STUDENT REGISTRATION SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

This work introduces a computer oriented approach to the registration of students in the admissions department of Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu as opposed to the Manual process that is currently in use. Although there may be a computer system existing already in the department used for staff and student’s services, it cannot handle the registration of the students since it was not initially designed for this, if there is, the computer, system may be making use of batch processing techniques.
The loopholes in the existing system (manual) will be taken into account in designing the new system. All the system’s specification required to put the system into operation will be considered. This on-line operation will be made to be user-interactive. The programming language to be used for the system’s design and development is visual basic 6.0.
This work is expected to eliminate the shortcomings of the existing system thereby being an explicit solution to implicit problems inherent in the system.

Design and implementation of computerized diagnosis system

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPUTERIZED DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM – A STUDY OF GENERAL HOSPITAL ISHIAGU

ABSTRACT
This project, electronic diagnosis system, is a software system tailored for use in the diagnosis and analysis of diseases.  The software is an expert system with a database containing an expert knowledge.  The user only uses it to determine whether he or she has any of the diseases within its domain.  The software has been designed to be interactive with audio capability eliciting from the user if they have symptoms of the diseases. The user response helps the expert system to determine the level at which the disease is present.  The user is further advised on what next to do.  This software is implemented in visual basic programming environment, Health care facility should be accessible by all at all time.  But some of the people that should access these facilities are far removed from these facilities. It would be of great necessity to provide a computerized system that will provide a complementary medical service, such as medical disease diagnosis in places where accessibility is a problem as well as health care facilities where qualified experts are lacking, hence this topic, design and implementation of electronic diagnosis system.  [Read more…]
